I’m still ignorant and I have a lot to learn

There seems to be nothing more important in life than ‘learning’. Not only for work, but above all for the fullness of life itself. That’s why I often think about not losing the ‘willingness to keep learning’.

This is the ‘learning’ part of Warren Buffett’s story with his lifelong companion, Charles Munger.

Buffett and Mung seem to have a great passion for learning. They call each other ‘learning machines’. Buffett said this about learning:
“The world is always a fascinating place. We can be very happy when we realize something is wrong. For example, when we realize that an old idea isn’t really right. Then we have to adapt to the new idea. Of course, it’s not easy. .”

Buffett can say that even in his old age, he sees the world as a charming place, and that learning makes him very happy when he realizes his mistakes.

What Munger said is even more impressive.
“Looking back, I have no regrets that I didn’t make more money or not be more famous. It’s just a pity I didn’t get wiser sooner. The good news is that, at 92, I’m still ignorant and I have a lot to learn.”

Munger, a Juris Doctor at Harvard University, is well over 90 years old. It was beautiful to see him saying, ‘I still have a lot to learn from ignorance’ even at that age. I have to learn his ‘willingness to keep learning’.
